Légère is not made from a different material. It is a different way of working with the same material. The acetate is shaped more finely, excess thickness is carefully removed, and the frame becomes lighter without sacrificing structure or stability. It is the kind of refinement that is decided in the workshop, step by step.
Perceived weight also depends on more than just grams. A well-balanced frame that distributes weight properly between the nose and ears will often feel more comfortable than a lighter frame with poor balance. That is exactly what our opticians assess during the fitting process.

What is the difference between the Légère collection and the Marie-Sophie Dion collection?
Same workshop, same acetate, same craftsmanship. The Légère collection uses thinner acetate and more refined shapes for a lighter feel. Prices are slightly lower, ranging from $450 to $590, compared with $450 to $650.

Is a lightweight frame more comfortable?
Not necessarily. Comfort depends mainly on how the weight is distributed between the nose and ears, as well as the quality of the fit. A lightweight frame that is poorly adjusted can be less comfortable than a heavier frame that is well balanced.
